HO CHI MINH CITY – CAT TIEN NATIONAL PARK – DAKNONG – DAKLAK
Day 01: HOCHIMINH.CITY – CAT TIEN NATIONAL PARK (-/L/D) – 160 km
06h30: Welcome and pick up guests at a hotel in HCM City. Then, transfer to Cat Tien National Park, make stops on the way for visiting La Nga Floating Village, discover the Former Vulcan Crater (Lava tubes), + Have sightseeing on the way.
Noon: Have lunch at a local restaurant before going to the park.
Afternoon: Arrive at the Dong Nai River bank, get on the boat to access the office of Cat Tien National Park. Do paperwork. Then, continue the tour by bicycle (9 km) to explore the park’s rich nature. After that, we access the trail and start to hike (5 km) through the forest to access Bau Sau Lake (Crocodile Swamp). While hiking, if we are lucky, we can see some kinds of animals like deer, civet, loris, pangolin, wild boar, … or see some bird species like peacock, black drongo, …
Arrive at Bau Sau Lake, check in. Free for your own activities to explore the park, enjoy the sunset, and help the forest rangers prepare dinner.
Evening: Have dinner with the forest ranger officers and spend the night at the Forest Ranger Station. Chat with the forest ranger officers to get to know more about the park’s legends.
After dinner, we go to the lake shore to watch crocodiles, deer, civet,…
Accommodation: Wooden house/Park’s Guest house (Forest Ranger Station).
Notes:
- Rooms at the forest ranger station are really simple and basic, but cosy as they are wrapped by nature.
- Before getting to Bau Sau Lake, if guests do not want to use the bicycle. Then, the Pick-Up (4WD) will be used instead.
Day 02: Cat Tien National Park – Gia Nghia – DakNong (B/L/D) – 160 km
Morning: We have breakfast at the forest ranger station.
08:30: check-out and continue to walk (5 km), explore the park’s fauna and flora system. Off the trail and continue the tour with a bicycle (9 km) to get back to the park’s office.
Note: Sometimes, we also get off the bike and walk to discover some parts of the trails in the forest (if guests want to discover the park more). Visit giant trees like 400 years old Tung tree, the Fabaceae tree, the lagerstroemia forest, … Arrive at the Park’s headquarters, check out. Leave the park and get on the boat again to cross the Dong Nai River to access land.
Noon: Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Continue the trip to Gia Nghia – Dak Nong, and have sightseeing on the way.
Make stops for visiting the villages of M’nong and Cauma (Chau Ma people).
Arrive in Gia Nghia around 18h00, check in the hotel.
Evening: Spend the night in Gia Nghia.
Accommodation: DakNong Lodge Resort 3*** or similar.
Day 03: Gia Nghia – DrayNur Fall – Soft Rafting – Buon Ma Thuot (B/L/D) – 150 km
Morning: After breakfast, 08h00: Check out the hotel, visit EXPLORASOUND (the first museum of sounds in Vietnam), and move on the journey to Draynur Fall. Have sightseeing on the way. Visit the cocoa garden, plantations of coffee, pepper, and rubber. Enjoy coffee in DakMil.
Noon: Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Arrive at DrayNur Fall.
+ Option 1: Visit Draynur Waterfall (swimming is possible), relax.
+ Option 2 (Surcharge = USD 50/1 pax): We start the tour by biking (3 km) to visit Koup village, and discover the culture of the Ede. Then, walk to the wharf to enjoy the rafting trip with a Kayak. For this route, swimming is possible at the LUA waterfall. After the rafting is done, we continue to visit DrayNur Fall.
16h30: Continue the trip to Buon Ma Thuot, check in the hotel, and free at your own leisure.
Evening: Spend the night in BMT and be free for your own activities to discover BMT City at night.
Accommodation: Elephant hotel 4**** or similar.
Day 04: Buon Ma Thuot – YokDon National Park – Lak Lake (B/L/D) – 160 km
Morning: After breakfast, 07h30: Check-out and depart to YokDon National Park. We have 8km by electric car from the park’s headquarters to access the park. Study about the elephants as well as the diversity of the park’s fauna and flora system. Leave the park around 12h30.
Noon: Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Continue the trip to Lak Lake and do the following activities: Go FISHING and enjoy dug-out canoeing on Lak Lake.
Evening: Have dinner with the host and spend the night at a homestay in Le Village – Lak Lake.
Accommodation: Long house-on-stilts or Lak View Hotel.
Note: If guests are expected to stay at Lak Tented Camp, a surcharge = $35 per person.
Day 05: Lak Lake + Visits – BMT Airport (B/L/-) – 60 km
Morning: After breakfast, check out, and we start to visit the villages of Jun and Le. Discover the culture of the M’nong R’lam ethnic group. Enjoy a ride by tractor to visit rice paddies and M’lieng village. Discover the cultures of the M’nong, Tay, and Nung people. Move on the journey to visit Yang Tao village, discover the traditional job of making potteries with black clay by the M’nong people.
Noon: Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Relax or enjoy the process of making jarwine/ Visit Coffee factory (if possible), Study about coffee. Enjoy coffee.
Free until transfer to BMT Airport for your onward flight.
End of the services.
